What is AEMAS ?
AEMAS - ASEAN Energy Manager Accreditation Scheme is the world's first regional system for energy managers and energy end-users. Funded by teh European Union under the Switch-Asia Program, it is currently being implemented by the ASEAN Centre for Energy in eight (8) ASEAN Member States ; Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philiphines, Thailand and Vietnam. The Scheme will be a significant contributor to the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation’s (APAEC 20102015) cumulative target of reducing the region’s energy intensity by 8% (based on 2005 level) by the year 2015.
The Energy Management Gold Standard is the brand of excellence for sustainable energy management system awarded to companies/organizations as certified by AEMAS. It has 3 level of certification, namely: 1-star; 2-star; and 3-star. To be certified under AEMAS, energy end-users (companies or organizations) will be evaluated on their energy management performance based on the level of fulfilment to the following aspects: Management, Organization, Process, Information, Financial, Social responsibility and Achievement. The Energy Management Gold Standard can be achieved by a company/organization by undergoing the AEMAS certification for energy end-users.
