EU CBAM Readiness Assessment & Reporting

Protect Your Exports to Europe. Avoid the Carbon Tax Shock.

The European Union's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is now live. If you export Steel, Aluminum, Cement, Fertilizer, Hydrogen, or Electricity to the EU, you must declare your embedded carbon emissions — or risk losing your market share.

What Is CBAM Readiness Assessment?

CBAM Readiness Assessment is a specialized audit to calculate the "embedded emissions" of your products according to the strict methodology defined by the European Commission.

It goes beyond a standard GHG inventory by calculating the specific carbon intensity per unit of product (e.g., kg CO2e per tonne of steel).

This service prepares your CBAM Communication Report (XML format) for submission to the CBAM Transitional Registry, ensuring your goods can clear EU customs without delays or penalties.

Why You Need This Now

The transitional phase is already active. The financial impact begins in 2026.

What You Will Receive (The Deliverable)

We do not provide generic advice. We deliver the exact structured data your EU client requires.

  1. Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) Calculation: Detailed Scope 1 and Scope 2 emission calculations per exported product, compliant with ISO 14067 and official CBAM methodology.
  2. CBAM Communication Report (XML Data File): Fully formatted data file ready for upload into the EU CBAM Transitional Registry.
  3. Gap Analysis & Mitigation Strategy: Identification of emission hotspots in your production line with engineering recommendations to reduce carbon intensity before 2026.
  4. Verification Audit Trail Support: Preparation of documentation required for third-party verification when it becomes mandatory.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. Does CBAM apply to my company?
If you export Iron & Steel, Aluminum, Cement, Fertilizers, Hydrogen, or Electricity to any EU country, you are affected.
  2. When do I need to start reporting?
Reporting began on 1 October 2023. Quarterly reports are mandatory during the transitional period (2023–2025).
  3. Do I have to pay the carbon tax now?
No. During the transitional phase, you only report emissions. Financial payments begin in 2026.
  4. Can I use carbon offsets to reduce CBAM liability?
No. CBAM currently does not allow voluntary carbon offsets to reduce embedded emissions.
  5. How long does the assessment take?
Typically 4 to 6 weeks for a single manufacturing facility.
  6. What happens if we ignore CBAM?
Your EU importer may face penalties and will likely stop buying from you to avoid regulatory risk.
